Už nejsme nejdražší země na elektřinu! A není to dobrá zpráva.
2,4 GW.
Celá Evropa teď shání megawatty pro AI datacentra. Ne čipy, ne peníze. Megawatty.
Není to důvod to nechat ladem. A nedávejme to zadarmo.
20. října napsal, že nemusí. Stejná otázka, devět měsíců, opačná odpověď. ERÚ to vítá, odběratelé ušetří přes miliardu.
Cenu v těch hodinách nastaví Německo a Polsko, ne my.
Jediné místo, kde AI datacentrum domácnostem přímo (a paradoxne) pomůže.

Text description of this panel
Bar chart titled Dnes plus 7,4 TWh. V roce 2035 skoro dvojnásobný minus. Czech net electricity trade in TWh per year, exports up, imports down. Three bars: 2025 full year +7,43 (dark); 2026 January to September +6,8 (dark); 2035 MAF CZ 2023 respondent scenario -14 (red). A dashed red line marks the zero crossing that was supposed to come after 2025 and did not. Three columns below: 2026 still exporting; 2027 to 2029 coal leaving before the capacity mechanism and nuclear; 2030 to 2035 import share over 20 percent and 75 to 150 billion crowns for availability. Footer cites ERÚ, MAF CZ 2023 and the Commission capacity decision, and points to strt.it/evidence.
What settles each claim

| Czech households third in the EU on electricity in purchasing power parity, first a year earlier | Eurostat nrg_pc_204, band DC, 2026-S1, published 19 Oct 2026: Czechia 0,3434 PPS/kWh, behind Romania 0,4689 and Poland 0,4112. 2025-S1: Czechia 0,3916, first. | PRIMARY DOCUMENT |
| The 495 CZK/MWh renewables levy left the regulated component in January 2026 and moved to the state budget, 24,6bn this year | ERÚ price decision for 2026 (change notice, 29 Dec 2025) moved the household POZE levy of 495 CZK/MWh out of the regulated component into the state budget, 24,6 billion crowns this year; the regulated low-voltage component fell from 2 772 to 2 352 CZK/MWh (minus 15,1 percent). | CONFIRMED |
| Pocerady, Chvaletice and Kladno close within months, 2,4 GW | Sev.en announcement, 26 Nov 2025: "letos v prosinci, nejpozdeji v breznu 2027". Carriers: iROZHLAS, 26 Nov 2025; ČT24. About 2,4 GW installed. The company has since extended production at Pocerady and Chvaletice to at least 31 Mar 2027 (ČTK / České noviny, 20 Oct 2026). | CONFIRMED |
| Seven years for a grid connection in Frankfurt | IEA, 16 Nov 2025: FLAP-D connection queues "average seven to ten years". The post uses the lower bound of that range; the range is seven to ten years. | SINGLE-SOURCE |
| January: two of four Chvaletice units must stay | ČEPS analysis, 27 Jan 2026 (final report on the Sev.en closures), and ERÚ, 27 Jan 2026. The report recommends keeping two Chvaletice blocks (2 × 205 MW) for voltage control in northern Czechia, line loading (N-1) and system restoration after a blackout. The same analysis finds enough certified balancing power and system generation / import capacity for the year, so it was not a warning about running out of electricity. | CONFIRMED |
| October: they need not | Updated ČEPS analysis, 20 Oct 2026, requested by ERÚ because "podstatne zmenily vnejsi podminky". The system can be secured through technical, operational and coordination measures. Carriers: ERÚ, 20 Oct 2026; ČTK / České noviny, 20 Oct 2026. | CONFIRMED, two carriers |
| ERÚ welcomes it, consumers save over a billion | Jan Šefránek, ERÚ: "Pro pristi rok hovorime o uspore prevysujici miliardu korun"; the proceeding "pravdepodobne bude ukonceno, aniz by bylo nutne naridit pokracovani provozu". Same carriers as the October row: ERÚ; ČTK. | CONFIRMED |
| The plant owner asks for the methodology and nobody showed it | Václav Matys, Chvaletice: "Nyni se zaver zasadne meni, aniz jsou nam presne znamy duvody, metodika a predpoklady". Carriers: ČTK / České noviny, 20 Oct 2026; TZB-info. | CONFIRMED, two carriers |
| The newest adequacy assessment is from October 2024, and both its scenarios make Czechia a net importer after 2025 | ČEPS, MAF CZ 2023, published 31 Oct 2024: "zmena ciste exportni pozice CR na importni po roce 2025". Official PDF on ČEPS: MAF CZ 2023 (ČEPS download). Second carrier: byznysnoviny.cz PDF copy. | CONFIRMED, two carriers |
| It did not happen; exports are higher than last year | ERÚ reports on the operation of the Czech electricity system: 6,8 TWh net export January to September 2026, against 5,69 TWh in the same period of 2025. | CONFIRMED |
| For 2035 that document expects 14 TWh of imports | MAF CZ 2023, respondent scenario: 18,2 percent of domestic consumption, about 14 TWh. Same two carriers as the MAF row above. | CONFIRMED, two carriers |
| 2,4 GW at normal utilisation is 6 to 9 TWh a year | Author's calculation. See Method. | DERIVED |
| Net export in 2025 was 7,43 TWh | ERÚ, annual report on the operation of the Czech electricity system 2025. | CONFIRMED |
| The plants close because of the allowance, about 80 EUR per tonne against a 2027 wholesale price near 100 EUR/MWh | EU ETS price; Czech CAL-2027 forward. A lignite emission factor of 1,0 to 1,1 tonnes CO2 per MWh gives an allowance cost of 79 to 88 EUR/MWh. Inputs named; not a published institutional forecast. | DERIVED, inputs named |

DERIVED
2 400 MW × 8 760 hours × 0,30 = 6,31 TWh. The same at 0,45 = 9,46 TWh. The 30 to 45 percent band brackets the implied Czech coal fleet average: roughly 26 to 27 TWh of coal generation against roughly 8 GW installed is about 38 percent.
Unit-level output for the closing blocks is not published, so this is the author's calculation and not a published figure.
Limits
- ČEPS has already reversed itself once on this question, so neither position is settled.
- The January analysis concerned voltage, line loading and black start, not a shortage of electricity.
- ČTK reports that in January ČEPS "doporučil dočasně zachovat" two Chvaletice blocks. The post's "musí zůstat" reflects ERÚ's proceeding to order continued operation, not the analysis wording. (ČTK / České noviny, 20 Oct 2026.)
- Sev.en has extended production to at least 31 March 2027, so the closures are months away rather than in December.
- The lower bound of the 6 to 9 TWh band sits just below the 7,43 TWh export, so the claim that the surplus disappears holds at the midpoint and above.
- The 14 TWh import figure for 2035 is a scenario, not a forecast, and comes from a document whose base case has already failed.
- No published institutional price forecast exists for Czechia for 2027 to 2030, so the post states a direction and no number.
- ERÚ's proceeding had not formally closed when the post was published.
- Ekonomický deník, 21 Sep 2026: the main support period is likely to slip from 2032 to 2033, and the bid deadline has already moved to 18 November. The post says 2032.
Call
Czechia's annual net electricity balance turns negative, that is a net import over a full calendar year, in 2028 or earlier.
Made 26 October 2026. Scored from ERÚ's annual report on the operation of the Czech electricity system.
Falsifier: Czechia is still a net exporter over calendar 2028.
